Miriam has created ever
since she could
remember and
retains many fond
memories
as a child sitting
at her father's
side watching his sculptures
take shape.
But even with clay
and wax
readily at
hand she found
herself
completely drawn into
two dimensional art. It
wasnt
until much later
that she began
to tap into
the sculpting
roots of her
father.

To this day Miriam
remains
a self taught
artist and has never
found comfort
in a structured
art class.
The idea that
anyone should
tell an artist what
their work
should look
like has never
felt right to her.
|
Instead she prefers to let nature
teach her the mysteries of life and the shape of the natural world.
She delights in
finding the light and life of her animal subjects, especially in the
sled dogs she shares
her life with every
day.
Many of her personal projects carry her sled dog companions as the
primary subject.

Miriam does take commissioned work on a
case by case basis and only takes a
few projects each year.
She knows the subjects she is working
with are very important
to her clients and she takes
her time with each piece to insuring that
each client walks away with the finest quality custom art.
She never rushes a
project.
